PHILIPPINE Cycling team members Jericho Rivera and Emmanuel Dave Montemayor ruled the 100-kilometer Open Elite category of the 1st Danao City Grind Fest 100 on Aug. 24, 2024 in the Northern Cebu City known as the cycling capital of the Philippines.
The two crossed the finish line in 4:40 to take the top spot in the event that drew cycling enthusiasts all over the country.
Jhonphilip Padaong and Jayric Trinidad took second place in 4:44, while Aljun Villarin nd Khalil Andrei Sanchez got third place in 4:49.
In the 100KM Open Elite Mixed division, Edmhel John Flores and Shagne Paula Yaoyao got first place over Mathew Symon and Nicole Quinones with both pairs registering 5:18, while Carla Flotenia and Joshua Canete got third place in 5:20.
Adel Pia Sendrijas and Diana Marie Cortes ruled the 100Km Open Elite Women in six hours, finishing six minutes ahead of second placers Edge Prado and Urika Dawn Iwayan and a whopping 78 minutes ahead of third placers Lovely and Leslie Gitaruelas.
In the 100K 19 to 34 Division, Kenneth Watin and Jorice Mark Zabate got first place in 5:04, 14 minutes clear of second placers Evan Gregory Laput and Riquelle Joseph Duque and 18 minutes ahead of third placers Ian Vhinz and Metchel Pilapil.
It was a little closer in the 35 to 49 category with Jessie and Rizaldy Sanchez finishing first in 5:17, just one minute ahead of Ramonito Espinosa and Jubilyn Labora. Jhep-Poy Juson and Lyndon Tago got third place in 5:20.
In the 100K 50 above, the top three pairs are Nilo Barbalose and Philip Sainz (6:04), Peter Gestopa and Christopher Marzon (6:20), Joemar gayacan and Rolly Onggada (6:31).
In the 60K category, Alembert Colongan and John Rafael Monterola cruised to the top in 2:35, beating Joseph Benidect Selga and Yael Dejillo (2:57) and Rey Maglasang and Renan James Icot (3:01).
Junreck Carceuba and Khyl Lequin won the 19 to 34 division in 2:27, beating John Paul Dagatan and Gabriel Tumulak (2:30), and John Dominic Eguinto and Roy Carbonera (2:33).
Ryan Sayre and Edgar Allan Pastor topped the 35 to 49 division in 2:50, finishing 10 minutes ahead of Archie Cabaobao and Emann Valdenor and 18 ahead of of Jose Nilo Tibay and Rico Pitogo.
In the 50-above division, Erensto Parohinog and Edualan Rodrigo won first place in 2:59, while Paul Edgar Gambong and Cecilio Caspiong (3:09), and Ronie Adlawan nd Charlon Menoria Jusay (3:10) got the next two spots.
In the 60K all-women, Janary Nina Esgana and Adrienne Kate Narvasa got first place in 3:27, while in the 70K e-bike division, Eulogio Yu Jr. and Leo Manulat got first place in 4:07, while Oscar Rodriguez Jr and Roland Pasaol settled for second in 4:18.
