THE 5th Erco Samareno Cup kicks off on Saturday, July 19 with games in the Players 4, 8, 10, and 12 at the Dynamic Herb Sports Complex.
The Players 4 division, the youngest age group in the event, attracted four teams–Real Galaxy FC, Erco FC, Makati FC and CFC Academy, while the Players 6 has eight teams in two groups.
The Teams in Group A are DB Liloan FC, Huna FC, Bogo City FC, and Giuseppe FC, while the teams in Group B are CFC Academy, Makatai FC, Don Bosco Cebu FC, and Real Galaxy FC.
After playing a round robin, the top two teams in each group will advance to the crossover semifinal.
On the other hand, 20 teams signed up for the Players 8 division–Subangdaku FC, Don Bosco Ceb D, Look FC, Bogo City, and Paref-Springdale Titans in Group A; Real Galaxy FC-Acacia, Don Bosco B, Makati FC, Guiseppe FC, and Corona del Mar FC in Group B; City of Naga, Cebu United FC B, Don Bosco Cebu A, Real Galaxy FC Narra, CFC Academy A in Group C; and Cebu United A, Don Bosco C, Lapu-Lapu Heroes FC, DB Liloan FC, and CFC Academy B in Group D.
The teams will play a single round robin with the top two in each group advancing to the quarterfinal round.
In the Players 10 division, the 20 teams that signed up are Don Bosco A, Don Bosco D, Minglanilla Booters, Look FC and Bogo City A in Group A; Bogo City B, Don Bosco E, Guiseppe FC, Corona del Mar FC, City of Naga FC in Group B, HP95 FC, STC FC, Real Galaxy FC, Don Bosco B, and Guardian Strikers in Group C; and Cebu United FC, Don Bosco C, Lapu-Lapu Heroes FC, Subangdako FC and CFC Academy in Group D.
In the Players 12 Division, the teams in Group A are Don Bosco C, Kingston FC Davao, Minglanilla Booters FC, Ubers FC, Huna FC, while the teams in Group B are HP 95 FC, Real Galaxy FC, Don Bosco A, Guiseppe FC, and Corona del Mar.
In Group C, the teams are ADA FC, STC FC, CFC Academy A, Guardian Strikers FC, and Subangdaku FC, while the teams in Group D are Don Bosco Cebu FC, Look FC, Razkals United, Cebu United FC, and CFC Academy B.
On Sunday, it will be the turn of the Men’s Inter Company, (seven teams), Boys 20 (five teams), and Men’s 40-Above (four teams).
Meanwhile, tournament sponsor Baking Ingredients by South Kings Trading is handing out free Malunggay Pandesal to all registered teams during the first day of the tournament.
Team coordinators or team coaches may claim their redemption stubs at the organizer’s booth. Pandesals will be available at the designated redemption area outside the Dynamic Herb cashier’s station starting at 6:30 in the morning.
