TO help achieve the goal of Philippine Football Federation president John Gutierrez to professional the sport, the Cebu Regional Football Association conducted twin grassroots seminars in Cebu and Bohol.

In Argao, Glen Ramos and John Ferrer a four-day PFF License D coaching course at the Coal Mountain Resort and at the Cebu Technological University on July 17 to 20.
The event attracted 32 participants, including six from the host club Argao Arch Football Club.
In Bohol, Archie Reyes, together with AFC referee instructor Dennis Estaniel also held a three-day basic referee seminar, which was attended by 39 participants.
“They are eager to learn and they were lucky to have Dennis Estaniel as their instructor. They easily grasped the concepts, they just lack the confidence to make decisions because of them are newbies,” said Reyes.
Reyes said most of the participants were from clubs and from DepEd Region 7 and the seminar was part of their preparation for the Central Visayas Regional Athletic Association meet next year.
They will also identify potential referees who will officiate in the U16 and U19 Visayas and Mindanao clusters together with the PFF pool of referees.

“The two seminars is part of CRFA’s support of our PFF President’s vision to professionalize the sport and to have new licensed coaches and referees,” said CRFA president Rodney Orale.
