REAL Galaxy FC youngest teams stood tallest in the first weekend of the 5th Erco Samareno Cup as it won the youngest division last July 19 and 20 at the Dynamic Herb football Stadium.
Real Galaxy defeated Makati FC Cebu in the Players 4 division and outpointed Giuseppe FC to win the Players 8 division. Both divisions used the league type format.
Meanwhile, Kelula Marie Pepito towed Giuseppe FC to the title in the Players 8 division after scoring the lone goal in the final against CFC Academy. In the semis, Giuseppe blanked Don Bosco A, 4-0, while STC scored a similar win against Look FC.
Giuseppe added the Players 10 division to their haul after outlasting STC on penalties. The final ended in a 1-1 draw before Giuseppe bagged the crown with a 3-2 win.
In the Players 12 Division, the visiting Kingston Town FC of Panabo City made their trip to the Queen City a memorable one with a 3-1 win over Subangdaku FC.
Kingston, which defeated Corona del Mar 2-1 in the semifinals and Minglanilla 2-0 in the quarterfinals, stormed to a 3-0 lead early with Anthon Jake Capunan (second), Ben Joshua s. Hurano (fifth) and Love Pedregosa (ninth) scoring early.
Subangdako, a 1-0 winner over Giuseppe in the semis, got its lone goal from Jasonle Esparcia in the 15th minute.
In Day 2, San Roque FC defeated KNF Lapu-Lapu City for the Boys 20 title, while Virtual Buddy FC defeated Knowles FC for the Inter-Company crown.
In the Men’s 40-above, Erco FC defeated DAS FC.
