EGAY Alqueza topped the qualifiers then won the championship match to win the July title of the Sugbuanon Bowlers United Bowler of the Month at the SM Bowling Center at SM Seaside on July 28, 2024.
Alqueza, who tallied a best of 254 in Game 3, topped the five-game elims with 1,145, with Lemuel Paquibut a distant second at 1,029.
Rey Esolana got third place with 1,007, thanks to his 198 and 193 in Games 2 and 3, while Nestor Ranido finished fourth with 995, buoyed by his 248 in Game 2.
The rest of the top 10 bowlers are Dodong Dante (990), Manny Bueno (965), Tessie Dante (962), Roger Asumbrado (959), Rene Ceniza (957), and Cedrick Luckenwald (937.)
In the knockout stage, the fifth-seeded Dante upset Ranido, 197-182, but fell short in round two against Roy Esolana, 183-170.
In the semifinal round, Paquibot ended Esolana’s run, 206-196, to arrange a final match with Alqueza, who handedly defeated the second seed, 168-145.
