Jancork Cabahug exploded with 28 points while Ted Saga added 19 to lead Boss Ogre’s Kicks to a commanding 105-89 victory over Angel Mary Pawnshop on Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2024, in the championship game of the Kap Danny Fiesta League at Barangay Pardo, Cebu City.
Aside from Cabahug and Saga, veterans Shane Menina, Froilan Mangubat, and Jerome Napao also provided solid offensive support, contributing 18, 16, and 15 points, respectively.
Boss Ogre’s took an early lead at 20-9, but three consecutive three-pointers by Kyle Dajalos closed the gap to 31-28 at the end of the first quarter.
There were moments when Angel Mary Pawnshop seemed poised to take control, as Dajalos teamed up with Jayson Balabag, Acer Go, and Dennise dela Cerna. However, the defensive efforts of Cabahug and Napao in the paint, coupled with Menina and Mangubat’s precise shooting from outside, stifled Angel Mary’s comeback attempt.
Cabahug, who scored 31 points against Blessel last Monday, was named the Most Valuable Player of the competition, which was one of the main events of Barangay Pardo’s fiesta celebration.
