Another product of Carmen Baseball, Karl Niño Ernest Mangapis, is going to the University of Sto. Tomas on an athletic scholarship, following on the footsteps of his brother Vince Ernest Mangapis
who just graduated at UST also on a baseball scholarship.
Vince recently made a name for himself in the Ormoc City Open baseball tournament, earning the Best Pitcher award and becoming one of the three Best Hitters.
Niño has been playing baseball since his elementary years and even made the Palarong Pambansa during his fifth grade. Now 14 and an incoming junior in high school who represented Carmen National High School in the Palarong Pambansa in 2018, will try to play triple duties for the Tigers.
Aside from being a pitcher, Niño can also play the first and third base positions.
