THE Central Visayas Football Association U19 is off to a great start after routing Camiguin-Misamis Oriental RFA, 5-1, in the first day of the PFF U19 Boys National Division 1 Group B at the Dynamic Herb-Borromeo Sports Complex.
Charles Cliff Ventura scored the first goal in the 28th, while Merick Baloria added a second two minutes into injury time.
CMORFA, represented by the Higala FC boys, conceded another early goal with Joseph Kyne Garces making it 3-0 three minutes into the second half.
Substitute Julius Marf Galeon finally got one for the visitors in the 86th minute but their euphoria was short-lived as Czar Robert Daanoy made it 4-1 a minute later before Justine Louie Soco scored the fifth goal two minutes into added time.
In the second game, the Panay FA outlasted a determined Zamboanga del Norte-Dipolog RFA, 2-1. Captain Ryan Paolo Cudal got the first goal for Panay in the 17th and Riancarl Catalan made it 2-0 in the 33rd.
Zamboanga got one in the 90th but Panay FA held on for its 2-1 win.
CVFA currently holds the lead on goal difference, with Panay at second. On Thursday, the CVFA will gun for its second win against Zamboanga, while Panay will meet CMORFA.
On Saturday, Zamboanga will face Camiguin, while CVFA will take on Panay.
