A STRONG showing in the middle rounds got expats Mark Hodgkinson and Robert Sarvida to the top of the Sugbuanon Bowlers United Doubles tournament at the SM Seaside Bowling Center on Aug. 11, 2024.
The two scored 417 and 427 in Rounds 2 and 3, sandwiched by a 341 and 400 in Rounds 1 and 4 to finish with 1,585, just 42 ahead of second placers Aui Padawan and Jomar Jumapao.
GJ Buyco and Maeng Viloria, who scored a tournament best 441 in Round 2, took third place with 1,531, while Nestor Ranido and Arthur Tapaya, took fourth place with 1,512.
The rest of the top 10 tandems are Noli Valencia and John Galido (1,486), Ted Convocar and Lemuel Paquibot (1,444), Uwe Schulze and Roy Esolona (1,442), Orly and Dory Enoveso (1,404), and Vivian Padawan and Geff Buyco (1,379).
Hodgkinson, an Australian expat who is married to a Filipina, scored 237 in Round 3, while Sarvida, a Filipino American on vacation, had 190 as the duo scored 437 to take the top spot, while Buyco and Viloria settled for second with 404.
In the first round, Schulze (226) and Esolana (184) posted the best round of 410, just two ahead of second placers Valencia and Galido.
In the second round, Buyco scored 210 and Viloria had 231 for the best score of 441, while Hodgkinson and Sarvida got second place with 417, while in the final round Padawan (205) and Jumapao (225) got the top spot with 425, while Ranido (229) and Tapaya (174) settled for second with 403.
