The Filipinas opened their title defense on a perfect note, routing Timor-Leste 7-0 in Group B of the Asean Women’s MSIG Serenity Cup at the Viet Tri Stadium on Aug. 7, 2025.

The Filipinas had Timor-Leste back-pedaling on the get go with Aaliyah Schinaman getting the first goal in the second minute, converting from close range courtesy of Quinley Quezada, who made it 2-0 five minutes later after scoring off her rebound.
In the ninth, captain and World Cup veteran Hali Long headed in Chandler McDaniel’
s corner, while Quezada made it 4-0 in the 32nd with a controlled finish inside the box.
In the second half, Dionesa Tolentin finally got on the scoresheet after seeing her first attempt denied, while substitute Adelaide Wyrynski took advantage of a goalkeeping error to score from close range.
Meanwhile, the Philippines will next take on Australia on Sunday, before facing dangerous Myanmar Wednesday. Myanmar defeated Australia, 2-1, in the other Group B match.
