Lapu-Lapu City Heroes kick off 2026 campaign with semis stint in Boys 19 of Sinulog Cup

THE Lapu-Lapu City Heroes United started its 2026 campaign on a strong note, advancing to the semifinal round of the Boys 19 division of the 14th Sinulog Football Cup at the Dynamic Herb Football Stadium over the weekend.

The team, composed of Khent Vincent Sotto, Rylle Ancajas, Loniese Dave Roman, Christopher John Montesioso, Kyle Pasarda, Alejandro IV Salvilla, Xhyrxish Jake Aguanta, Justine Bregente, Obama Cabuena, John Lennon Dela Serna, Anthony Rey Ontong, Kevin Clyde Ybañez, and
Xedi Sanchez, posted an unbeaten run in the group stage to advance to the semifinal round.

The team, coached by Joseph Estremos and Jan Michael Flores, blanked Don Bosco Technical College B, 2-0, and DBTC Dumaguete, 3-0, and 1-0, in the double round robin group stage. It also drew with DBTC B, 1-1.

However, in the semifinal round, the team fell short after losing to Cebu United, 2-1. Don Bosco FC A eventually claimed the title after beating Cebu United, 2-0.
