Makati FC Cebu bags P6 title in Aboitiz Cup 2024

Makati Football Club Cebu blanked Real Galaxy FC, 3-0, to win the Players 6 title of the Aboitiz Football Cup on Sept. 29, 2024 at the Dynamic Herb Sports Complex.

Seth Gabriel Enopia opened the scoring in the third before Luis John Malinao and Banksy Maynard Estremos got back-to-back goals in the 17th and 19th minutes to complete the rout.

In the battle for third place, Sacred Heart SChool-Ateneo de Cebu fought back to beat Cebu United FC, 4-1.

Lance Xavier Limosnero gave Cebu United the lead in the 11th but it was shortlived as Benedict Eduard Lim scored two quick goals in the 12th and 13th minutes, while Juan Javier Veloso and Vaugh Calix Pedrosa added two more.

In the semifinals, Real Galaxy defeated Ateneo, 4-2, while MFC blanked Cebu United, 2-0.

In the Players 8 Division, MFC Cebu, Real Galaxy, Don Bosco FC C and Sugbu Calidad FC advanced to the semifinal round.

MFC Cebu defeated CFC Academy, 3-1, with Samuel Josiah Lanozo, Zayne Arvel Ernest Acuna and Xavier Arong getting a goal each.

On the other hand, Real Galaxy leaned on two late goals to beat Looc FC, 3-1. Benjie Triton Japson gave Galaxy the lead in the 11th before Mark Lee Pulvera equalized in the 19th. Triton got the lead back in the 21st, while Skyler Yuson added an insurance goal in the 23rd.

Meanwhile, Don Bosco FC C beat sister team DFC B thanks to Jasper Dayne Ocanada’s goal in the 18th and an own goal in the 20th, while Sugbu Calidad FC survived Bato Spartans FC.

SEMIS BOUND. Sugbu Calidad defeated Bato Spartans FC to advance to the semis in the P8 division.

Kenzo Tan (7, 15) and Andrew Nicholas Chik (12th) gave Sugbu a 3-0 lead before Via Birao cut the lead to 3-2 with goals in the 13th and 17th minutes.
