Mayor Garcia lauds heroic act by DBTC footballer

ACTING Cebu City mayor Raymond Alvin Garcia, who is a Bosconian, praised the heroic acts of Don Bosco Technological Center footballer Eugene Ivan B. Ynclino VI for saving a child at the open sea.

On July 22, 2024, while relaxing at a beach after playing at the Pintaflores festival, Ynclino noticed a young boy struggling as he was being swept to the open sea.

“Without hesitation, Ynclino sprang into action. Despite the treacherous and slippery path down to the sea, he fought his way to the struggling child. in the process, he sustained injuries, a testament to the risks he took to ensure the boy’s safety,” DBTC said in an FB post.

Mayor Garcia, who recently witnessed DBTC’s gold medal triumph in the Palarong Pambansa elementary football, posted in his official page.

“Kinsa nga Bosconian ang dili ma pround ani? Wala gyud. Thank you for your compassion, fearlessness, and heroism, Eugene! You make us all proud,” Mayor Garcia posted.
