PFF announces Filipinas squad for 2025 Asean MSIG Serenity Cup

THE Philippine Football Federation unveiled a lineup of veterans and young hopefuls as the Filipinas eye to defend their Asean Football Federation Women’s Championship crown in Vietnam.

Now known as the Asean MSIG Serenity Cup, the tournament will be hosted by Haiphong and Phu Tho from Aug. 6 to 19.

The Philippines is in Group B with Australia, Myanmar, and Timor Leste, while Group A features Cambodia, Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam.

“We’re excited to bring a strong, youthful squad to this camp–a good blend of our experienced playes but also a number of U17 and U20 players to join us,” said head coach Mark Torcaso.

The squad will feature veterans Olivia McDaniel, Inna Palacios, Malea Cesar, Hali Long, Chandler McDaniel, and Quinley Quezada, mixed with Nina Meollo, Alessandra Carpio, Rhea CHan, Janae DeFazio, Charisa Lemoran, Adelaide wyrzynski, Kaya Hawkinson, Nina Mathelus, Jaycee DeFazio, Isabella Pasion, Isabella Alamao, Aliana Weibel, Aaliyah Schinaman, Lyka Cuenco, and Azumi Oka.

The Filipinas will make their debut against Timor-Leste on Aug. 7 before taking on Australia U23 on Aug. 10 and Myanmar on Aug. 13.

In 2022, the Philippines beat Australia U23, 1-0, Singapore, 7-0, Indonesia, 4-1, but lost to Thailand, 1-0, in the group stage. In the semifinals, the Philippines blanked Vietnam, 4-0, and earned a measure of revenge against the Thais, 3-0, to win its first major title.

“As the Filipinas prepare to defend their crown at the Asean MSIG Serenity Cup, they have already inspired millions with their achievements, especially their recent qualification to the AFC Women’s Cup next year. So now, they need our full support to continue making history,” said PFF president John Gutierrez.
