THE newly-formed Cebu Regional Football Association (CRFA), carved from the Central Visayas Regional Football Association, will hit the ground running after the election of its first set of officers on Aug. 31, 2024 at the Golden Prince Hotel.
The CRFA was formed as Bohol, which used to be part of the then Central Visayas Regional Football Association, was allowed to form its own regional association.
“Our immediate plan is of course the staging of the Aboitiz Cup,” said CRFA vice president Nimrod Quinones. “We also plan to continue the programs in the previous admin, which is to hold coaching and referees seminar.”
President Rodney Orale was elected unopposed during the elections, which followed the ordinary congress. Aside from Orale, Quinones and Atty. Kirsten Erika Casas were elected unopposed as the vice president and female board members, respectively.
They will be joined in the board of governors by Engr Nilo Ferraren, who got 49 votes out of a possible 60, Chad Songalia (47), Tirso Roa (47), Archt. Jhojo Partosa (45), Jose Guy Ceniza (44), Dr. Alvin Roxas (43), Archie Reyes (43), Evren Tasci (42), Atty Johndee Piasidad (42), Dr. Edgar Molleno (41), Lord Seno (40), and Mark Queblatin.
The election was witnessed by PFF President John Gutierrez, who praised the local FA for an orderly election.
“You can be a role model to all the other member associations of the Federations,” said Gutierrez.
