THE Abuno Elementary School football team booked a spot in the City Palaro Meet after outlasting Pajo Elementary School in a high scoring match during their Unit Meet on Oct. 10, 2025 at the Haven of Peace grounds in Lapu-Lapu City.

Abuno, boosted by three reinforcements from Einstein School of Cebu–Spencer Sven Lomadilla, McJohnston Singh, and Lexon Yu–got on level terms twice in the match, 2-2, and 3-3, before moving ahead, 5-3, and cruising to a 5-4 win.
Devin Jasper Gildo completed a hat trick, while Zhou Icarus Malingin and Nate Laurence Aparece had one each for Abuno, which is coached by Jupre Aparece and John Dave Regner.
Aside from the scorers and reinforcements, the other members of the squad are Mark Daniel Bacla-an, Asriel Josh Heredia, Macken Jabellana, Quint Earl Calvo, Jun Clark Labasan, James Abellana, Andrie Jay Fuentes, Xian Carl Abaño, Derek Heredia, Daniel Daño, Rujelwin Llavore, Kent Jersey Baguio, John Paul Delos Reyes, Covie Dela Cruz and Clint Eric Almerol.
The team was accompanied by teachers Airene Godinez, Marife Linao and Junabelle Ompad.
The win means the team will represent their Unit in the Lapu-Lapu City Meet on Nov. 3 and 4, when they will vie for a spot in the Central Visayas Regional Athletic Association.
