Veteran Cebuano sportsman Lorenzo Chao Sy, who has been involved in Cebu boxing and basketball for over 50 years, lauded former WBC welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao as he launched his presidential bid. In his social media post, Chao Sy, whose involvement in Cebu sports started when he was only 16 years old, said “I’m very proud of you…you’re the right person to be chosen next president of the republic of the Philippines.”
On Sept. 20, 2021, Manny Pacquiao ended speculations and accepted the nomination from the PDP-Laban to be the party’s presidential candidate for 2022.
Senator Manny Pacquiao CONGRATULATIONS!!! You made the right decision to run for President, you are now nominated to represent our nation for highest position . I’m very proud of you.
