Despite not competing in any local races in the past year, Cebuano ace karter William John Riley Go was feted by The Golden Wheel Awards Foundation Inc. during its annual awarding on Dec. 29, 2022 in Manila.
Go, who is now competing in Europe, got a special Plaque of Appreciation for his contribution to motorsports in the Philippines in the past year, while competing in Europe in 2022. Among his greatest feat in the past 12 months was winning his first European title after topping the Super ROK category in Italy in October 2022.
He also had a podium finish in the WSK Euro Series last July, becoming the first Filipino to do so and got second place in his debut in the FIA Karting Academy Trophy last April.
I am honored and humbled to have marked a first for the Philippines as the first Filipino to make podiums in European races. It was also a wonderful experience to have met fellow new and old Filipino racers
