Kandaya Resort outgunned Jpark Island Resort, 98-93, to claim the third place honors in basketball event of the Hotel Resort and Restaurant Association of Cebu, Inc. (HRRACI) Sportsfest 2024 on Friday, July 5, at the Capitol Parish Gym along Escario Street in Cebu City.
Jed Lorenz Moralde shepherded Kandaya to a bronze-medal finish with a scintillating double-double show of 25 points and 17 rebounds laced with five assists, two steals, and one block.
Joshua Villa also dropped 25 points on top of four rebounds, four assists, and one steal for Kandaya, which got off to a sizzling 27-16 start and at one point led by 18 points, 74-56, late in the third period.
Kandaya then quelled a spirited endgame fightback by JPark to escape with a close but exhilarating five-point triumph.
Renciel Rosaceña and Ronald Fernandez also figured prominently, combining for 31 points, nine rebounds, and nine assists for Kandaya.
James Llenes exploded for 29 points spiked with seven rebounds, two assists and four steals but his all-around performance went for naught for JPark.
Brian Santillan had a double-double of 19 points and 10 rebounds, while Warren Cañete nearly had a triple-double with 15 points, nine rebounds, eight assists, and two steals in a losing cause.
