Norfa holds twin seminars for futsal, PFF C License

TO FURTHER promote the competitiveness of football in their area, the Negros Occidental Regional Football Association (Norfa) hosted two tournaments–a basic seminar for futsal and the PFF C License seminar this week.

FREE SEMINAR. Norfa, together with the Moran Foundation, organized a futsal seminar that attracted 23 participants.

Twenty-three coaches joined the futsal seminar, organized by Norfa in collaboration with the Moran foundation, while 29 coaches joined the C License course of the PFF.

“This aims to strengthen technical capacity among coaches and teams while fostering closer collaboration with neighboring Regional Football Associations (RFAs), with the goal of establishing a broader regional futsal tournament platform. These efforts directly support the grassroots and competitive development pathway aligned with the Philippine Football Federation (PFF) futsal build-up in the country,” said Norfa president Miggy Valmayor.

COACHES EDUCATION. Norfa also hosted a PFF C License seminar for 29 participants.

On the other hand, the C License course, led by Coach Aris Bocalan, is part of NORFA’s effort to provide more coaching education programs

“NORFA continues to actively pursue hosting more coaching education programs to benefit not only our local coaches but also those across the region, reinforcing our commitment to raising overall coaching standards and player development,” Valamyaor said.

Aside from the twin seminars, the RFA also conducted its regular fitness test for referees and a coaching convention, conducted free of charge for both its referees and coaches. The RFA has also been encouraging UAAP teams to conduct tryouts in the region to give players a chance to win athletic scholarships in major schools.

Norfa will also host a a tryout for the University of the East men’s football team with coach Frank Muescan on Feb. 8, 2026, while last December, Anto Gonzales conducted his second tryouts in the region for the University of the Philippines Women’s Team.
