THE Negros Occidental Regional Football Association is making football accessible to all by partnering up with LGUs in the creation of the Negros Football League.

“We clustered three parts of Negros for jurisdictions–North Talisay-San Carlos, Central-Bacolod and South-Bago going down. We opened franchises to handle the leagues,” said Norfa president Miggy Valmayor. “As much as we can, we are trying our best to keep the whole league as cheap as possible. For one franchise, we hit the goal–we made it entirely for free by partnering up with the LGU. We want to replicate it to other parts slowly.”
Valmayor said that since there are existing leagues in the areas, they just ask them to adopt the Norfa rules for uniformity.
“We are priotizing our grassroots, specifically our youth since this is the most competitive stage,” he said. “The main objective here is to align with our principles, to make football affordable, accessible, and available.”
Valmayor said they have year-long calendar, from the preparations, to the qualifiers, to the champions league.
“We actually have a timeline until 2028 to activate as our leagues are interconnected to each other. By membership compliance, player protection and keeping the harmony within our organization,” he said.
Norfa recently held the final of its U16, dubbed the “El Clasico of Negros OCcidental” as Classico de San Carlos FC dominated rivals Bacolod United FC, 3-0, to win the title.
