Norfa taps Uefa coach as technical director

THE Negros Occidental Regional Football Association has tapped Uefa Pro License coach Joan Segura Farre as its technical director.

UEFA Pro License Coach Joan Segura Farre of the Royal Spanish Football Federation will be overseeing Norfa’s football program for one year.

Farre, who is with the Royal Spanish Football Federation, is expected to significantly improve the coaching, teaching, and player development of Norfa in his one year stay.

“We went to Spain last year for the Real Madrid Foundation World Challenge. Without a single centavo spent by the kids or family. It was the private and public support,” said Norfa president Miggy Valmayor. “They were impressed by both teams of NORFA. We are very consistent on it. Then perhaps they trusted us, they offered us a spanish coach to stay for the whole year in Negros.”

Before becoming Norfa president, Valmayor already started a Center for Excellence program in San Carlos City for the U10, U12, U14, and U16 age groups.
