Giuseppe FC extended its dominant run in the Aboitiz Cup Boys 14 division as it handed San Carlos School of Cebu a 7-0 beating to advance to the finals against Don Bosco FC-A.
Giuseppe FC, which won all three matches in the group stage scoring 18 goals while conceding none, found itself ahead three minutes in thanks to Darl Mathew Pantinople.
Nico Chen completed a first half hat trick to make it 4-0, before Pantinople completed his brace two minutes into the second half. Mael Christin made it 6-0, while James Torrillo scored the final goal for Giuseppe’s fourth straight shut-out victory in the division.
On the other hand, Don Bosco FC A, which also won all matches in the Group Stage, scoring 19 goals while conceding none, outlasted Don Bosco Liloan via shootout in the other semifinal round.
Don Bosco Liloan got the lead in the second half before Don Bosco FC A got an equalizer to force extra time. It was still a draw after the extended minutes, forcing the shootout.
