A depleted Central Visayas Football Association U19 squad is ready to take its talent down south and gun for the Philippine Football Federation U19 Division B Visayas-Mindanao crown in Zamboanga City.
Missing six players due to injuries and personal reasons, the CVFA team will take on Godarfa at 10 a.m. on Aug. 23 before facing host Zambasulta FA on Aug. 25. It will close its campaign against CMOFA on Aug. 27.
The team will have Mark Mayor at goal, defenders Eugene Tillor, Uriel Villacarlos, Simon Delcampo, John Vincent Largado, Edgar Paredes and Zraime Ebrada on defense. The midfielders are Bebong Lamparas, Carseten Pumareja, Ludwig Badayos and Richard Songalia, while the wingers are Gianrenzo Custado, Kyrell Bangot, Stephen Soria, Frances Vercide and Paul Mapula.
The team only have Mark Lester Zafra and Joseph Garces as strikers, while Garces and Paredes will also double as sub keepers. The team is missing Carizon, Selman and Lingating due to injuries and Pacaldo, Legara and Cergneux due to personal reasons.
On the other hand, the team will have head coach Glen Ramos back for the tournament. Ramos missed the CVFA U20 invitationals due to national team duties and was replaced by assistant coach Jinggoy Roa. The two will be joined by goalkeeper coaches Garry Garciano and Jojo Tapia, team therapist Nico Quiñones, team manager Jhojo Partosa and CVFA president Rodney Orale.
