Philippine Football Federation president John Gutierrez lauded the two-day football clinic organized by the Cebu Regional Football Association and the Aboitiz Football Cup in coordination with Toledo City the other week for opening opportunities to kids through the sport.

The CRFA held a two-day camp in Toledo City with students from Jose Chona Jo Memorial NHS, BuAnoy NHS, Bato NHS, Toledo FC, Toledo National Vocational HS, Awihao NHS, and Luray II NHS as participants.
It featured a coaches course, players training and a mini futsal tournament with noted coaches Philip Denuyo, Marlou Solon, Filmore Nabua, and Claudith Zapanta serving as trainers. The clinic was also supervised by Engr. Nilo Ferraren, Futsal Committee chairman, John Martin Ferrer, technical director, and Robert Nicart, PFF tutor.
“The Aboitiz Futsal Clinic in Toledo City shows what can be achieved when regional football association (RFAS), local governments, and the private sector work together. Through futsal, we are creating more opportunities for the Filipino youth to play, learn, and grow in the sport–especially in the communities outside major cities,” PFF president John Gutierrez said in an article posted at the PFF website.
On the other hand, CRFA president Rodney Orale thanked Toledo City officials led by Mayor Marjorie P. Perales and Vice-Mayor Jau B. Sigue for their support for the clinic.
“It was the first time for me to hear local officials say they want to improve sports tourism in their town,” Orale said in an earlier interview.
