TALISAY City Mayor Samsam Gullas lauded the city’s team for winning the elementary girls futsal medal of the just concluded Palarong Pambansa in Agusan del Sur.
Talisay City left no stones unturned in the final, beating Davao Regional Athletic Association, 5-1.
“It is truly inspiring to see our Talisaynon athletes excel in a national sports competition. This remarkable accomplishment further strengthens our advocacy for the continuous development and support of sports programs in the City of Talisay, providing more opportunities for our young athletes to succeed,” Gullas, a sports enthusiasts who has initiated grassroots sports program in Talisay, said.
The team was led by head coach Rhonan Belleza and assistant Rhosner Bollozos and Lhera de la Calzada.
“I would also like to recognize the hard work and leadership of their Head Coach Rhonan Belleza, with Assistant Coach Rhosner Bollozos together with Lhera De La Calzada, and the entire VAMES Futsal Team for this outstanding achievement. Your commitment, discipline, and perseverance have brought great pride and honor to our city,” said Gullas.
Talisay City’s victory was also historic as it was the first time the elementary girls futsal became a regular event in the Palarong Pambansa, which also featured an 8v8 competition in the boys elementary division.
