STEVE Bahani marked his return to the bowling alley on a high note after winning the Bowler of the Month for April of the Sugbuanon Bowlers United last May 4 at the SM Seaside Bowling Center.
Bahani, a businessman who just returned to competition, booked his spot in the semifinal round a fter topping the Division C elims with 836, hitting a best of 171 in the third round to beat 81-year-old Romy Mauro for the top spot in the division.
They were joined in the semis by Class A winner Jomar Jumapao, who had 1,180 after scoring a tournament best 276 in the fourth frame and runner-up Richard Turner, who scored 1,094 after closing the elims with 233 and 234.
Vivian Padawan also made the semis after topping Group B with 971, just five ahead of runner-up Celis Viloria.
In the semifinals, Viloria and Bahani finished in the top two with 215 and 207, respectively, while Turner had 193 to settle for third place. Padawan had 188 and finished at fourth place, while Mauro got fifth place with 179. Jumapao had a quiet 174 to settle for the sixth spot.
In the finals, Bahani rolled away with the title after scoring 210, while Viloria had 192.
