A SOLID Giuseppe FC A played perfectly in eight games to rule the Boys 14 division of the 5th Erco Samareno Football Cup on July 26, 2025 at the Dynamic Herb Football Stadium.
Giuseppe FC was so dominant that it didn’t concede a single goal in eight matches on its way to the title. Giuseppe FC blanked USC-BED, 1-0, Corona del Mar, 3-0, Guardian Strikers B, 9-0, and Don Bosco FC C, 2-0, to top Group B with a perfect 12 points then sent Bogo City FC home, 2-0, in the quarterfinals before beating Real Galaxy, 2-0, in the semis.
In the final, Giuseppe scored another 2-0 win over Don Bosco to rule the division.
It was a closer contest in the Boys 18 division as San Roque outlasted Abellana National School, 3-2, in the final. Both ANS and San Roque finished the league type elims with 10 points with the former taking first place on goal difference to set up a final showdown.
In the Girls 18 division, Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu avenged its loss in the group stage and defeated Ceb United FC, 2-0, in the final. The two teams drew each other in the first round, before Cebu United edged out Ateneo, 1-0, in the second round of the group stage.
In the Girls 16 division, Don Bosco Liloan took home the crown after beating Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu, 1-0 in the final. DB Liloan finished with a 3-1 record in the group stage and defeated CFC Academy, 2-0, in the semifinal round.
The 5th Erco Samareno Cup continues on Sunday with games in the Men’s and Women’s Open, Men’s 50-above, Soccer Moms, and Girls 14 division.
