THE U-13 Boys of Giuseppe Football Club (Giuseppe FC) ruled their division in the AIA 7s Football Festival 2024 anew for their second title this year during the two-day tournament from on Oct. 5 and 6 at the Dynamic Herb Sports Complex.
Giuseppe FC U-13 squad managed to upset Cebu Football Club in the championship, 2-0, to win the title, its second in the AiA 7s this year.
GFC U-13 Coach Reeve Andre Sumayod was hailed SuperB Coach for the category, while the MVP was awarded to Darl Matthew Pantinople and the Best Goal Keeper award was given to Mael Christin.
Joining Pantinople and Christin on the team are Gyle Veloso, Ezethomas Omega, James Torillo, Jhames Mikhael Gavas, Josea Benedict Mabini, Jhairel Rosel, John Riekz Llorag, Franz Juntilla, Charles Lejarzo, Joshua Hendin, Kael Andreas Arriola, and Sealtiel Royce Luzano.
It will be the third championship award for Giuseppe FC’s U-13 squad this year, after winning the AIA 7’s tournament in March, and the Ateneo Cup last February 2024.
The AIA 7s Football Festival, renowned for showcasing emerging talent, brought together teams from Cebu, each vying for the coveted championship.
Under the guidance of head coach Hayato Ayabe, the Giuseppe FC team showcased remarkable teamwork, adaptability, and sportsmanship throughout the tournament. Their journey to victory included thrilling matches where they displayed their skills, including passing, swift counterattacks, and solid defensive strategies.
