FOR the second straight month, the Cebu Regional Football Association (CRFA) will have a full schedule with five consecutive football tournaments in August.

First to fire off is the Sugbo Football Festival on Aug. 2 and 3, while the 1st Lokality Football Cup kicks off on Aug. 8 and 10.
In the third weekend, the Legend’s CUp will take place, while CRFA closes out August with the 3rd Governor’s Cup-Eagles tournament on Aug. 23 to 25 and with the 3rd CRFA Presidents Cup.
This month, the CRFA also had the 7th Ateneo Cup, MEZ-HRA, and the 5th ERCO Cup, which was played over two weekends.
“One of the things that we make sure is that tournaments don’t overlap, so it’s very important that organizers have their events sanctioned with the CRFA,” said CRFA president Rodney Orale.
Aside from providing licensed referees, the CRFA also plots sanctioned events in their calendar to make sure there are no conflicts.
Meanwhile, PFF president John Gutierrez lauded the organizers of the Sugbo Football Festival for their tournament.
“This is a great initiative for the Philippine Football Federation and for everyone as a whole. I would also like to invite everybody, stakeholders, coaches, parents and especially the players to join the Sugbo Football Festival,” Gutierrez said in a video message.
Aside from tournaments, the CRFA also organized a PFF License D seminar in Argao and a basic referee course in Bohol this month.
