The all-around play of Kayud Tayud’s Roy Ivan Penas had him leading the Statistical Points Race as the CYBL Summer Showcase goes to its semifinal round at the Alta Vista Golf and Country Club.
Penas posted averages of 19 points, seven rebounds and impressive four steals, one assist 0.3 block and 1.8 turnovers for a total of 166 SPs. The next four spots were taken by Ballerhood players, Kline Ochavo (159.7), Santos Go (153.0), Jonathan Manalili (145.5) and Zylle Caberon (143.7).
Meanwhile, GAA’s Ray Christian Catacutan leads the scoring list with an impressive 21 per game. He put up 28 points in a losing cause against Tisa Basketball in the quarterfinal round, hitting 12 of 18 shots from the field, including one of two 3-pointers. Penas, who had 26 points in the quarterfinals, is second with 19 per game, while Raffy Celis is third with 16.3. Tisa’s Glenn Contado (16.3) and Ballerhood’s Jonathan Manalili (14.0) made the top five.
Joshua Rezald Dacalos of the CHBC Landmasters is the current chairman of the board with 10.5 rebounds a game, the only one to average in double figures. Teammates Wilhelm Josh Go (8.5), Raffy Celis (8.0) and Jelo Mar Rota (7.5) also made the top five along with Penas (7.).
Ballerhood’s Manalili also leads the assists department with six a game, while teammate Jerwin Espina (5.5) is second, ahead of Green Rose’s Kim Louis Capisnon (4.5) and John Anthonly Aligway (4.0). Landmasters’ Latrell Lorenzo (4.0) also made the top five. Penas also leads in the most steals with 4.0, while Real Aureo of Ballerhood showed a real presence in the paint with 2.3 blocks per game.
