The Lapu-Lapu City Heroes Football Club acquitted themselves well in their first foray into football-manic Bukidnon, making it to the quarterfinal round of the Players 9 Division of the Del Monte Cup 2026.
Playing for the first time in Bukidnon, the team of McJohnston Singh, Spencer Sven Lomadilla, Daren Himaya, Seth Daniel Gacrama, David Gad Inso, Samantha Sassik, Eyana Rhaine Brillo, Alfredo Dizon III, Zion Drake Hinoguin, and Kevin Luke Esquierdo went undefeated in five matches in the group stage, scoring eight goals while conceding none.
The Lapu-Lapu City Heroes defeated Blackrose Malita, 2-0, Rangers FC, 2-0, XUGS Crusaders, 3-0, and Minokawa, 1-0, and earned a draw with FCGR to move to the knockout stage.
However, Lapu-Lapu fell short in the quarterfinals, losing a close match, 1-0, to Olles FC.
