On Heroes Day weekend 2026, the Lapu-Lapu City Heroes U14 team sure went home as one as they won their first tile for this year. Led by MVP and Golden Glove winner Wil Jacob Rom, the Lapu-Lapu City Heroes won the tough U14 division of the Cebu Youth Football Cup 2026 at the Dynamic Herb Football Stadium on Aug. 29, 2026.
After posting a 2-1 record in the group stage–with 1-0 wins over Giuseppe and ADA Cebu against a lone loss to CFC A–the Lapu-Lapu City Heroes arranged a quarterfinal meeting with Toledo, which they won, 2-1.
In the semifinals, the Heroes played to a 1-1 draw with Corona del Mar before Gurman Kumar Sheetak got them a spot in the final against Tabor Hills.
Sheetak again came up with his scoring touch in the final, while Rom showed he’s just as good in scoring goals as stopping them as the two carried the team to a 2-0 win over Tabor Hills.
Aside from Rom and Sheetak, the other members of the squad are Mark Eurey Singh, Zacc Roshan Lomadilla, Toa Hoshino, Patrick San Lucmong, Thor Dennis Hvidsten, Samuel Aaron Magnetico, Julian Alexander Marañon, C-Kremer Bendaño, and Arquilles Torrejos.
