Club Filipino on the verge of back-to-back titles in PAL Interclub

Club Filipino de Cebu is poised for back-to-back wins in the Sportswriters Division after its Men’s Regular team cruised to a 23-point lead going into the final day at Cebu Country Club.

Up by 11 in Day 2, the co-hosts are now comfortably ahead by 23 points after scoring 94 on Day 3 for an aggregate of 288. Teodoro Almario led the way with 26 points, Seung Hyung Baik had 25, and Hospicio Razon scored 24. Rolan Alberto’s 19 wasn’t counted.

Club Filipino, which trailed by three in the opening round at CCC, is followed by Camp Evangelista 265 (94, 82, 89), South Cotabato 259 (83, 88, 88), Seattle Golf 259 (75, 103, 81). Day 1 leader Davao Golf dropped to fifth at 256 (105, 78, 73).

Club Filipino won the Sportswriters Division in the Seniors Tournament last week and will be leaning on Nilo Seno, Leonardo Arevalo, Warren Bedell, Carlvin Gothong and Jovi Neri to seal the deal in Day 4. Gothong scored 29 points and Neri had 27 for Club Filipino in the first day.

Results in the other Divisions were not available as of posting time.
