Wei Yu Gao and Tae Jung Yun delivered big time for Alta Vista Golf and Country Club (AVGCC) as it fended off Cebu Country Club (CCC) to seal their victory in the Aviators Division of the PAL Interclub Men’s Regular Tournament after the fourth round in Club Filipino de Cebu.
Trailing by two points going into the final round, Gao had 32 points to anchor AVGCC’s 103-point output in Round 4 for a 425, just four points
ahead of CCC. Gao, who had 26 points in Round 1, closed out with two birdies in round 4. Yun had 26 points, while Jong Bum Woo and Charlemagne Yared had 23 and 22, respectively.
On the other hand, CCC, who banked on Marco Mendoza’s 38 points in Round 3, banked on Baltaire Balangauan’s 29 points in the final day for their 97 points and 421 overall. Thomas James Castillo had 24, while Ki Hoon Shin and Dominic Gotiong had 22 each.
In the Championship Division, former title holders and co-host Cebu Country Club finished at third place at 498 (126, 130, 120, 122). Mark Dy led the way with two birdies for 34 points, while Peter Tyler Po had 31. Kyu Ok On had 29 and Eric Deen had 34.
Southwoods 5344 (141, 133, 127, 133) won the division over Eastridge 521 (127, 135, 120, 139).
Results in the Friendship and Sportswriters Division, where AVGCC and Club Filipino de Cebu are leading, were unavailable as of posting time.
