Mauro Tan, who replaced Manolo Tan in the 46th got in the ref’s notebook for a yellow in the 79th but got in the ledger again, this time for the first goal in the 85th. Three minutes later, Marco Perez, who replaced Gabriel Bautista in the 67th, made it 2-0.

With both teams undefeated, the winner of the Kaya FC vs. CVFA match on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. will advance to the national finals. However, Kaya FC has the edge thanks to a superior goal difference, having beaten EVRFA 2-0, while CVFA only won by one.

Though it lost its first two games, EVRFA’s showing in this tournament is a stark improvement in previous similar regional eliminations and to the hosts’ misfortune, it will influence who advances to the national finals.
