Accountants from PICPA Cebu City will play individual and team chess at SM Seaside over the weekend as part of their 77th Picpa National Assembly. The individual event will be a seven-round Swiss System tournament, with 15 minutes to play, while the format of the team event is still being finalized.
“Twenty to 30 participants have signed up for the individual event, while we are expecting at least 20 teams for the team event,” revealed Rodrigo Ababat, head of PICPA Cebu Sports Committee.
The winner of the individual event will get P2,000, while the second and third placers will get P1,000 and P750, respectively. The fourth to sixth placers will get P500, P450, and P350 respectively.
The chess event is part of Picpa Cebu’s line of sports events, which includes bowling, golf event, and a fun run.
